LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Friday said the provincial government would spend Rs 4 billion on health and education facilities for the power.
While addressing a ceremony here, Shahbaz said that government has saved Rs 4 billion from the Lahore Safe City project that would be spent on the poor.
He said that the cost of Lahore Safe City project was less than the Islamabad Safe City project, adding that the Punjab government had reduced its cost by negotiating with a lowest bidder of from China.
The chief minister said that Lahore would be the safest city after Islamabad. In the next phase the system will be introduced in Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad and Gujranwala, he added.
